Monique Roffey Blog Image

Greetings

Thank you for visiting my website. For newcomers, please have a look around. There are all sorts of things you can do, including reading my blog, The Books and Book Life of Monique Roffey, (a collection of rants, raves and gossip about my so-called literary life), reading some of my unpublished work or reviews of my novels.

2010 looks set to be another busy year. Book-wise, the paperback edition of The White Woman on the Green Bicycle (Pocket Books) will be out in May, both here and in Australia. It has a pretty new cover and lots of nice things people have said about it, printed inside.

Also, I will be hard at work editing my memoir With the Kisses of His Mouth, a book which blurs genres, combining diary, travel-writing and essay. It will be published by Simon and Schuster UK in the spring of 2011.

I will be teaching Creative Writing a lot too in 2010. In January, I will resume my post as guest tutor on the MA in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths, as well as starting an eight week Creative Writing course for English PEN. In early July, I will be teaching a school group for The Arvon Foundation with poet Cliff Yates. In August, I fly to Greece to be Course Director for Skyros Holidays and teach for two weeks at The Writer’s Lab. My co-tutor and colleague will be the fabulous Jan Day whose courses I know well and thoroughly recommend.

Following nine months training, since 2009, with up and coming 100 metre sprinter Andre Williams, I will be doing a couple of charity runs in 2010. On May 26th, I will be joining Race for Life, in Battersea Park, a 5K run for Cancer Research UK. Then in September, I will run for Asthma UK, in the Adidas Women’s 5K Challenge. I also have various dates in my events diary which will be updated every few weeks, so check in if you wanna catch me read and talk about my work.
Until then, love and peace,
Monique
